GPS location-stamp camera for Android

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Geo Pin Cam (“the app”) is a camera app that writes a GPS/location stamp onto the photos and videos you capture. This policy explains what the app does with your data.

Summary

Information the app accesses

Camera

Used to show the viewfinder and to capture the photo or video when you press the shutter. Nothing is captured in the background.

Microphone

Used only to record sound while you are recording a video. It is optional: deny it and videos record silently. Audio is never captured while taking photos or while the app is in the background.

Location (precise or approximate)

Read while the camera screen is open so that the coordinates, accuracy, altitude and address can be stamped onto the image and stored in the file’s metadata. The app does not use background location.

Photos and media

The app saves the photos and videos it creates to your device’s shared media store and reads back the ones it created to show them in its in-app gallery.

Data that leaves your device

Your photos and videos are never transmitted anywhere.

Two optional features send your coordinates only (never the image) off the device when you are online:

You can turn the map thumbnail off in Settings. The app still stamps coordinates normally when it is offline.

Data retention and deletion

All data (photos, videos, settings) stays on your device. Uninstalling the app removes its settings. Photos and videos you captured remain in your gallery until you delete them yourself.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information.

Changes
